Xenon hel- och halvljus

Med Xenon belysning får du ett vackert sken och en kraftigare effekt än när du använder halogenlampor. Hos Extraljuskungen kan du köpa ny bilbelysning och sätta xenon på helljuset eller konvertera ditt halvljus till xenon. Det kommer att ge bättre sikt på vägarna, en längre ljuskägla och ett vitare sken. Här berättar vi om xenon belysning till hel- och halvljus samt vad som gäller om du besiktigar bilen med konverterade xenon lampor.

Vad är xenon lampor?

Xenon lampor har många namn med den gemensamma nämnaren att de är fyllda med ädelgasen xenon. De kallas också för HID lampor (high intensity discharge) gaslampor eller bi-xenon. Bi-xenon är en kombinerad xenon lampa som används för både hel- och halvljus. När du köper xenon för personbilen eller ditt arbetsfordon är lampan försedd med ett D och en siffra bakom. Detta är de olika socklarna och står för följande information: D står för Discharge, det vill säga urladdning Siffran informerar om tändare ingår samt nivå av miljövänlighet S (shielded) innebär att de har en avbländningseffekt genom en slags sköld S finns främst på nyare bilar medan äldre modeller kan ha bokstaven R istället vilket betyder att de är utrustade med en reflektortejp. Det finns således xenon lampor i olika utföranden. De flesta xenon lampor idag har en spänning på 35W utom D8S som har en lägre spänning – 25W.

Konvertering till xenon – vad gäller?

Normalt får du bara byta till samma ljuskälla som bilens hel- och halvljus hade när du köpte den, om du vill kunna köra lagligt på allmän väg och gå igenom besiktningen. Dock går det att komma undan om du enbart konverterar till xenon på helljuset. Vi förklarar varför! Om du konverterar dina halvljus till xenon från en annan ljuskälla måste du också utrusta belysningen med en strålkastarrengörare och en ljusnivåreglerare. Detta kontrolleras vid bilbesiktningen men däremot är det inte samma krav på bilens helljus. Anledningen är bländningseffekten. Då Xenonlampor lyser starkare än halogen så måste de regleras bättre i halvljuset eftersom helljuset bländar oavsett ljuskälla.
